National Geographic Special- Adopted Son

During enjoying my holiday at home, I have found some amazing things at the back of my house. It is not a treasure. It worth more than that. It’s a birds. I feel like my backyard is a bird’s sanctuary. Those birds are chirping all the times and the sound can make your soul very calm.

In the picture: From left, John, the Merbah species, Alex, eagle species (maybe) and Rambo, Alex’s little brother (in the cage). (All the names are giving by author)

The amazing story that I want to tell is how the Common Myna bird or its scientific name, Acridotheres tristis, adopted the eagle’s sons.

The Common Myna or Acridotheres tristis

The adopted son, the eagle. See their feathers, it so different.

Actually those Common Myna sons (the eagles) are felt out from their nest and lying on the ground. So I picked it up and put in the cage to prevent from any predators like snake, cat or human. There are two of them. Unfortunately, the little fella is died already (maybe being bullied by the older). But still it is unsolved mystery. How the different species of bird could have different species of sons? My assumptions are:

  • The Common Myna stole eagle’s eggs
  • The eagle’s mother gave her sons for adoption
  • The eagle’s parent died, so the Common Myna takes care of their child.
  • The eagle’s parent go to holiday and leave their child to the Common Myna
  • The Common Myna laid on wrong nest
  • Etc

Sounds ridiculous. But who knows. Maybe one of my assumptions are true. I am engineer, not a bird’s specialist ok. That the way we think. Haha.

But when we look at the other side, do we have such kind and generous heart like the Common Myna above? Feed and caring other’s child like our own child. The answer is no. We are worst than them. See the picture below:

Human being is a worst and evil species ever. They just throw out their child when they don’t need it. So, to all my reader, lets we think for a while. We have a special brain. We are 1000 times more clever than those animals. But why in the world we do such a thing. So, learn something from your pets starting from now ok.

(wow..4 am in the morning. Not sleepy yet..zzzzzzzzz)
